World Recipe: Tabouleh with Bulgur

Tabouleh is a traditional Arab salad, fresh, light, and full of flavor. Its bulgur base, combined with mint, tomato, and onion, makes it a perfect dish to accompany main courses or enjoy as a starter.

Ingredients

  • 120 grams of bulgur
  • 1 spring onion
  • 1 handful of fresh mint
  • 100 ml lemon juice
  • 1 tomato
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper (optional)

Preparation

  • Place a pinch of salt in a saucepan with water and bring to a boil. Add the bulgur and cook according to the package instructions (approximately 10-15 minutes).
  • Once cooked, rinse the bulgur with cold water and drain well using a strainer. Set aside.

  • Finely chop the spring onion. If you prefer to soften its flavor, place it in a small bowl with water and a good splash of lemon juice to mellow its strength.
  • Cut the tomato into small cubes and chop the fresh mint.

  • In a large bowl, combine the cooked bulgur, tomato, spring onion, lemon juice, a splash of olive oil, and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Mix all the ingredients well, ensuring that the bulgur is fully integrated with the other flavors.

Serve the tabouleh well chilled in a bowl and enjoy this fresh, flavorful salad.
