The Atlantic Museum of Lanzarote is located in the waters off the southern coast of Lanzarote, Spain. It is the first underwater museum in the Atlantic Ocean and Europe, and ranks among the top three in the world. It is situated 300 meters from Marina Rubicón, on Las Coloradas Beach.

In total, it comprises 300 figures distributed in 10 groups with different themes. All the sculptures hold a deep reflection on various aspects of society aimed at raising social awareness in the diver. Among them, the Lampedusa Raft stands out, which refers to the humanitarian crisis of refugees. It recreates the shipwreck of the French frigate Medusa off the coast of Mauritania and its image is of extreme realism that is chilling.

Another impressive sculpture is known as the Rubicón, a large concrete wall towards which 35 sculptures walk, all of them life-size and based on inhabitants of the island. This is complemented by the Human Gyre, about 200 sculptures placed on top of each other in a circle.

How to Visit:

This incredible museum is located in the bay of Las Coloradas, in Playa Blanca, so to visit it, it is necessary to book a boat dive with one of the diving centers in the area. Additionally, it is not necessary to have a diving certification, though recommended. The price of the dive is usually around €50.
