01 May How to Dress for a Winter Trip
You don’t need to bring your entire wardrobe for a 4-day trip. Winter travel clothing should consist of basic items that can easily be mixed and matched, without overloading your suitcase with different shoes, bags, coats, etc. You can get by perfectly with the same coat, bag or backpack, and boots for the entire trip. The key is to pack clothing that goes well with these items. From there, you can choose the rest of your clothing.

For a 3 or 4-day trip, we recommend:
1 coat that is comfortable and keeps you warm. Ideally, choose one that’s down-filled and has a hood to provide better protection from extreme cold.
1 bag or backpack. A backpack is more advisable if you’ll be carrying some weight (camera, water, a snack for mid-morning, etc.).
1 pair of boots. Invest in comfortable, stylish, versatile, warm, and high-quality boots for your travels.

2 pairs of pants, for example, blue jeans and one in gray or black (which go with everything). You can wear one pair during the journey.
2 sweaters and possibly a hoodie. Wear the thicker sweater during the trip to save space in your suitcase.
1 T-shirt and thermal leggings if you’re heading to a particularly cold place.

2 T-shirts or shirts that can be mixed and matched with the sweaters.
Underwear, thermal socks, etc.
Don’t forget your pajamas!

Accessories: 1 pair of gloves, 1 scarf, 2 beanies (they don’t take up much space, and you can change them during your trip).
With these items, you’ll have enough for a getaway, and you’ll have some space left in your suitcase in case you make some purchases.

Other recommendations:
Choose neutral clothing colors.
Wear comfortable shoes for travel.
Pack toiletries and personal care items.
Don’t pack more clothes in your suitcase than you actually need
